Community Garden

For the 2011 Growing Season

The Community Garden Committee* is accepting applications for two demonstration vegetable garden plots for the 2011 growing season. The purpose of the demonstration garden is to determine feasibility for establishing a community garden in Monument beginning with the 2012 growing season.

Garden One

We are looking for an organization to establish and oversee a demonstration garden during the 2011 growing season to grow and distribute produce for local charities or needy families. The organization should also be able to donate or help raise the resources (see donation list) needed for the garden.

Garden Two

We are looking for a family to plant a family demonstration garden for the 2011 growing season to see if a family can successfully grow vegetables at Lavelett Park. You will need to supply your own seeds and tools.

*The Community Garden Committee consists of Monument residents and Town of Monument Board of Trustees and Staff members.
